Once you buy a firearm, if you're interested in bringing it to the shooting range to practice with, there are certainly some pieces of gear you should have:
Must Haves:
- Eye protection
- If you already have a pair of safety glasses, you can certainly rock those, but here are some other options which I'd recommend for shooting:
- Ear protection
- In my opinion, the BEST ear protection on the market is the Peltor Ulitmate 10.
- Another option is disposable ear plugs such as these. Plugs are great to keep in your range bag so you always have some available; if you have guests shooting with you they're easier to use and disposable.
- NOTE: Ear plugs DO NOT provide the same noise reduction as over the ear protection, so they are better to use when shooting outdoors.
- In my opinion, the BEST ear protection on the market is the Peltor Ulitmate 10.
- Ammunition
- Targets
- All you really need are blank sheets of 8.5x11" computer paper. But really, where's the fun in that. These "splatter" targets are certainly more fun, and by using them, you can actually see where your rounds are hitting.
Nice to have:
